Summary:

This episode of E.R. is really dramatic. An ambulance explodes without reason and hurts a lot of people. Some of the doctors are injured but one of them is terrible wounded. They go to the Emergency room and they diagnose blood in his lungs, then they start surgery. Everything goes ok but minutes later the surgery, the patient starts to bleed again and the plot gets more complicated.

Reaction:

This episode is really strong. Blood, broken bones and a lot of critical decisions are surrounding the walls of the Emergency Room. It was a good episode, but it was no necessary to show gore and blood almost in every scene but was ok. E.R. sometimes gets too far but is a good drama with a lot of action and analogies with life and important decisions.

Prototype This is different Myth Buster. The program think some future ideals such as to make a car can drive on river, but it is just manuscript. They thought that make a car had eight legs like a spider, but it didn’t work because the leg could not support the car’s weight. And then they found a special derrick can which had a special tire. The tire shape looks like gear putting together on a tire, it can move any position. Finally, they were successfully.

Reaction:
I always have parking problem because it is hard to feel a parking space between car and car. If one day this car created on market, I would but it. It also can save much space, because when the car parks a parking space, it can move vertically into parking space. And all parks do not have to have extra space to let a car to park into or drive out the park space.

Title: Everyone Deserves Defense
Length: 15
The article that I listened to is by Peter Keane. He is a Professor of law at Golden Gate University Law School in San Francisco. Mr. Keane has been defending people for twenty years no matter who they are and what they have done. Most of the people that he helped were guilty, but he is always the only one protecting them. He has helped one of his clients who was charged with a crime to go free, but shortly after his release, he killed another person. Mr. Keane defended him again, but he was convicted. After thirty years doing this work, Keane declared himself proud of it. He often teach his student to do as he does because he believes that “One person on your side, no matter what you have done: that’s what keeps us a free people”.
Everyone deserves defense, but everyone like others. Our human society is made of deferent kind of people such as bad and good people. Some people are working hard whereas others are looking for the easy ways to live their life. In a society, we promote the full respect of the law for example: None has the right to take someone else life. If someone is convicted of crime, that mean he is not like other people therefore, he does not deserve any defense. Everyone deserves defense, but everyone like others.
Vocabulary
1-Anxiety: a vague unpleasant emotion that is experienced in anticipation of some misfortune.
2-Tenacity: persistent determination.
3-To hurl: to throw accusation at someone.

Title: A Mighty Heart

Length: 107:39 min

Summary:
This movie was based on a real story. On January 23, 2002, Mariane Pearl's world changed forever. Her husband Daniel, South Asia bureau chief for the Wall Street Journal, was researching a story on shoe bomber Richard Reid. The story drew them to Karachi where a go-between had promised access to an elusive source. As Danny left for the meeting, he told Mariane he might be late for dinner, then he never returned. In the face of death, Danny's spirit of defiance and his unflinching belief in the power of journalism led Mariane to write about his disappearance, the intense effort to find him and his eventual murder in her memoir "A Mighty Heart: The Brave Life and Death of My Husband Danny Pearl." Six months pregnant when the ordeal began, she was carrying a son that Danny hoped to name Adam. She wrote the book to introduce Adam to the father he would never meet. Transcending religion, race and nationality, Mariane's courageous desire to rise above the bitterness and hatred that continues to plague this post 9/11 world, serves as the purest expression of the joy of life she and Danny shared.

Reaction:
This is one of the more intelligent and well constructed movies of 2007 thus far. Touching on the human element as it collides with the unpleasant realities of hot-bed issues including politics and religion, the brutality and evil this story depicts is at times difficult to watch.

Difficult to watch because the content is disturbing, which is the intent of the film. We see a very human dimension to the real life characters who are depicted sensitively, making the grotesque outcome all the more horrifying. The story is fair to the innocent parties involved, and honest in rightfully assigning the blame to those responsible for these heinous acts. Dramatically and artistically, this is a superior movie.

Election+ crisis

Length
6 hours

Summarize
Today is very important to Americans, because they will elect a new president. Before the election, people had various opinions of these two candidates. From the start, Obama was leading. At 9 o’clock, Obama gained 174 electoral votes while McClain got 49. Through the election, people said that the factors to choose the president included age, but not race. Close to 10 o’clock, Obama got 199 vote from eighteen states including Ohio and New Mexico while McClain got 78 from 10 states. At 11 o’clock, Obama won by receiving 297. After that, McClain made a speech and he said that it’s entirely his fault and not the people who supported him. He also stated that he will support the new president and thank the people who supported him and his family, and then Obama showed up. He appeared in Chicago with his family and gave a speech. His success accounted for his family and people who supported him. At the end of his speech, he encouraged people by stating his policy, including developing new energy, create new jobs and build more schools for children.

Finally American elected their new president Obama, whether it is a right decision or not. Maybe the nation’s situation would have a big change and the race discrimination would disappear. I hoped he can change the economy and help people live better.

Election Day in America:

Length: 5 hours
Summary:
The election was a real battle between John McCain and Barack Obama. In most of the states, both of them had little differences in votes. A bad time for republicans, McCain’s performance was below W, Bush in 2004 elections in all the states. Barack Obama won with 338 of the votes (51%) of votes in America. Obama just needed 270 votes to become president. On the other hand we have a John McCain with just a 48% of votes that equals 155 votes. Obama was the solid winner of this election. McCain closed his campaign with an excellent speech. McCain is a honorable man, he spoke with wisdom about the future of America. Obama’s speech was extremely deep. People crying in the moment, repeating “yes we can” in every sentence of Obama’s speech. This is history and we are living it! God bless America.

Reaction:

My first time watching an election in America was incredible. All channels were focus in this event and the technology that they used was amazing. An example is the hologram used by the CNN network. Incredible! It was like in a Star Wars movie. However, the election was really tight between Barack Obama and John McCain, the battlefield was on fire and the voters were expecting the “worst case scenario” but Obama did it, and now is the 44th president of United States of America.

Title: election

Length: 7hours

Summary and reaction:
Through the whole election, there were a lot of different voices about Obama and MCcain. It was a real fight between Obama and MCcain also between the democracy and the republican about this We can noticed through the data. In addition, we can saw that both of the two candidates has their highs and lows. McCain has spent his lige in service to his country and all United States citizens are grateful. He has had the courage to face down enemies. Obama decoted his lige to academia and communtiy service. He has had the passion to drive people to do things , positive things, and he has inspired a fresh new movement in politics.

In my opinion, because from now on. There were no more television advertisements and no more buildup. From now on , all of the people in this country will fixed there eyes on Washington, on the new prisendent, because of the present economic situation, all of the people want to change. However, most of the people just follow blindly and agree completly, but take a few minutes to look within themselves and ask themselves "what can I do for my country?" They just pay attention on one person--Obama, and want to let him makes different. Nevertheless, just remember one thing Change this country it the responsibility of all Americans. They have to do their part to make the nest four years better than the last.

Title: Election 2008
Length: 5 hours
The American presidential election 2008, ended by the score of 64,975,682 for Democrats headed by Barack Obama versus 57,118,380 for Republicans leaded by Senator John McCain. Democrats victory accounting for 53% of votes and Republicans’ which equal 46 per cent of votes. The averages of votes for Senator Barack Obama are 49% by male and 53% by female. This election was so tight between Democrats and Republicans. Senator John McCain got 48% of votes from male and 43% from female. According to the result of this election, 349 electoral votes vversus 169, the victory of Barack Obama is fair in my opinion. In the history of the USA, this is the first time that an African-American is elected President. The other Presidents did their best and I won’t say that Mr. Barack is the best for this country. I just hope he can do better for the country and solve Americans problem cause people are suffering and it is not fair that big companies holding the economy of this country continue to turn all the profit in their advantage.

Title: the election
Length: 5 hours

Summary:
The U.S. presidential electeion has finished by winning Obama. I think this election was not exciting, because Obama was ahead all the time. While middle and south area's result was being announced, McCain seemed to catch up with Obama. However, it was not enough. As soon as Obama won in California, All the broadcasting stations announced Obama's win. And then, McCain and Obama's speechs were continued.

Reaction:
When I watched this election broadcasting, I was confused, because the way how to elect the president in the U.S. is different from the way in Korea. The U.S. way is if one candidate win in one area, they can get all of votes in that area. Korea is different. In Korea, we just count how much vote the candidate poll.
And I don't agree all of Obama's policies. However, I think he is smart and has sufficient qualifications for president. So, I hope he will change the U.S. to be better, and relize what he said before being president.

However, it was different from our prediction. After that Obama won California, the election was ended . And then, Obama has a winnig speech in Chicago.

Reaction:
We watched election in my friend’s house. During the election, we discussed the way of election in America. In America, they choose the way called ‘winning takes all’, but I confused between the way in Korea and the way in America. As soon as Obama was elected, all of the people in square shout for joy! Anyway, I hope that new president will change a lot of things.
